Blackberry Stitch Booties

These booties turned out so cute! They are so cushy and soft thanks to the blackberry stitch! This pattern is from the book Sunset's Beautiful Things to Make for Baby. I picked up a big bunch of books from the public library and copied the patterns I wanted, they should keep me busy for the rest of the winter!

Project Linus

Why no new projects for a few days, especially over a weekend? This weekend I spent concentrating on one of my favorite charities! I attended my third Project Linus Make-a-Blanket-Day. Throughout the year, I always have quilts and afghans in progress to drop off at the donation site here in town. But once a year there is a HUGE get-together where we all bring our sewing machines, crochet hooks and TONS of yarn and fabric. It's really inspiring and rejuvenating to see all of these wonderful people working toward the same goal.
I started this quilt two weeks ago and finished it up right before the deadline to have it entered in the competition that is always held at Make-a-Blanket-Day. I think that's a record for me! I didn't win anything but that doesn't matter, the quilt was fun to make and they all get donated to Project Linus so it was just an excuse to get another quilt done before the big day!

What charities do you craft for? Are you interested in seeing more of my quilts and blankets on here?

Ear flap hat

This is crochet from the Brrr Baby Beanie pattern by CraftyRahRah. Find the pattern here. This turned out rather large, larger than I thought it would be. Of course, I don't do gauge swatches so it's not the pattern's fault. :) Still kind of cute.

Panda Pants

These pants are from the book Beautiful Things to Make for Baby by Sunset. It a simple one-pattern-piece pattern, like adult lounge pants, with a roll-up cuff on the bottom. I think I'll make more in soft cotton knit!

Happy Valentine's Day!

This crochet bib is from a pattern in the May/June 2009 issue of Crochet Today. (Pattern by Maya Mackowiak Elson.) It was SO FUN to work and easy, too! You'll need to iron it when you're done stitching but don't be too forceful or you'll loose the definition in the stitches.

Cross Stitch Complete

It's all done!! I ran out of the charcoal floss for the outlining so I had to look up the color conversion chart for the company that made the kit and buy some. Now to find a frame for it and it will REALLY be done.

Jingle Ball

This little ball turned out nicely! The pattern is from the Winter 2003/2004 issues of Family Circle Easy Knitting. I added a jingle bell inside so it has a nice, gentle jingle. To avoid the muffled jingle of the ring toy, my husband devised a genius solution. Put a small jingle bell inside of a larger jingle bell!

Baby Gown from T-Shirt

I LOVE this pattern! It's from Rookie Moms, a website I also love. They give awesome how-tos, article and advice without sounding like a parenting book or commercial for a million baby products. (Both of those are major pet peeves of mine when it comes to mom websites.)

This gown is made from t-shirt material left over from making the gray baby hats. I thought the gray was a little boring so I added a strip of polka dot fabric to spice it up! I will definitely make a couple more of these!

Teddy Bear Blanket

This is a small blanket, about 12 inches square, more like a woobie or lovey. It's crocheted granny-square style and then the adorable bear head and arms are put on!
